City_Cafe_ca._1947

On Christmas day of this year, the Juneau Empire published an article chronicling the history of the City Cafe and its first owners, Shonosuke and Nobu Tanaka. In this article you will find information detailing the difficult times of their lives as well as the rewarding ones. You will also take pride in finding out about the people in the Juneau community who aided them during their internment and then helped them reopen the cafe upon their return. Finally, the history encompasses the partnership of Shonosuke Tanaka, Sam Taguchi and K. Komatsubara in the 50s.

The following link will take you to the article. Enjoy and Happy New Year!
